What’s on offer
The Fluxa founding cohort opens to the first UK merchants going live. Founding merchants receive:
- 1.8% flat rate · for UK businesses, written into the merchant agreement. The rate does not change unilaterally.
- No additional fees · no per-transaction fixed fee, no monthly minimum, no setup fee, no cross-border or FX uplift, no corporate-card or commercial-card surcharge, no per-refund fee, no additional Fluxa chargeback fee.
- Direct support from the Fluxa team · via Slack Connect, email and phone. No tier system, no first-line filter.
- Migration support included · the migration tool plus direct support from the Fluxa team for the migration itself, end to end.
- Roadmap influence · cohort merchants get first input on the prioritisation of the next release. The recurring-billing schema in v5.7 is being shaped against cohort feedback.
Why a founding cohort
The founding cohort is the first group of UK merchants we onboard hands-on. A focused team can give early merchants close attention during go-live, with direct support over Slack Connect, email and phone. As Fluxa grows, the support model scales with it. The cohort is about onboarding quality for the first merchants, not a limit on who can have the rate.
The rate is set deliberately below Stripe’s effective UK rate. Stripe’s headline UK rate is 1.5% plus 20 pence, but the effective rate for a B2B SaaS sits at 2.3 to 2.8% after corporate-card surcharges, cross-border uplifts and FX. At 1.8% flat with no add-ons, merchants pay less than half a percentage point below their current effective rate on most B2B SaaS volume profiles. The comparison page works through the scenarios.
How the rate works
Three details that matter:
- When the rate applies
- The 1.8% rate applies from the merchant’s first live transaction. The application-to-go-live window is normally two to ten working days, depending on KYB complexity.
- While you process
- The 1.8% rate is written into the merchant agreement and cannot be changed by Fluxa unilaterally. The agreement at /terms records this explicitly under the fee-change provisions.
- If pricing ever changes
- The same 1.8% flat rate applies to every transaction. Any change to published pricing follows the thirty-day notice rule in the merchant agreement, and you can leave with no penalty. Volume rates (below 1.8% for merchants processing more than £500,000 per month) are available on request.
- Leaving
- The cohort agreement is opt-in. The merchant can terminate with thirty days’ written notice. No cancellation fee, no termination penalty.
- Onboarding
- The standard Know Your Business and Know Your Customer process under the Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulations 2017. Apply through the home page; expect a response within two working days.
How the rate holds
Every UK merchant, founding or not, pays the same 1.8% flat rate. What sets the founding cohort apart is the hands-on onboarding and the direct line into the product roadmap, not the price.
Every UK merchant pays 1.8% flat, written into the merchant agreement. Volume rates below 1.8% for merchants processing more than £500,000 per month are available on request.
